Wheelchair Floor Hockey

This is an instructional floor hockey program that enables participants to build skills in puck handling, passing and shooting as well as game skills and strategies. Athletes who use an electric or manual wheelchair are welcome to participate. As a volunteer, your job will be to drop the ball when a team scores, referee and keep the ball in play. Volunteers may be required to assist participants with equipment before and after the program. Additionally you may be required to push participants who are unable to self-propel. You do not need experience working with people with disabilities or even be good at hockey but as long as you have a positive attitude you will feel the satisfaction of impacting another person’s life through your time and energy.
