COVID - 19 UPDATE - July 10, 2020
We are excited to announce the planned return of select programs in both Edmonton and Medicine Hat! Beginning Monday, July 20th Edmonton will look to resume adapted kayaking with both beginner and Intermediate cycling following on Wednesday, July 22nd. In Medicine Hat, camp in a box is well underway, with Paracycling slated to begin on Monday, July 20th. Acknowledging that a large portion of our members and staff are, or interact with, vulnerable populations, PSA has dedicated substantial efforts to assess a minimize risk to ensure the safe resumption of our programs in conjunction and accordance with provincial, municipal, and facility guidelines and best practices. While we understand that these are uncertain and rapidly changing times, PSA believes that our efforts, and those of our partner organizations, will enable our participants a safe return to outdoor recreation and organized programming. PSA believes that the facilitation and administering of our outdoor programming can be done safely in agreement with our mission and core values including fostering a sense of community and companionship, and inclusiveness, through physical activity and recreation. It is important to note that the safety, health, and well-being of our participants is our primary concern, and would like to forewarn participants that some of the procedures and policies required to safely exercise such as social distancing, cleaning & equipment frequencies, and usage of PPE may change how your program appears and operates. We ask for your patience as we look to navigate this new and uncharted territory.
Registration for programs will open online early next week. Updated policies and guidelines to follow during this summer’s programs can be found here: COVID-19_Policies_Final
Participants and family members are encouraged to read the full guidelines, and will be required to complete AHS recommended health screening and additional COVID -19 waivers prior to attending programs. All require communications and forms will be sent to participants and family members in advance and available online.
We very much appreciate that these having been difficult and trying times for many and are looking forward to reconnecting with our community and the safe resumption of scheduled activities. If you have any questions please contact the below assigned program specific coordinator.
