Ramiah started her PSA Executive Director role in June 2024 after completing her Master of Science in Kinesiology degree with the University of Alberta. She has spent many years volunteering and working with children and adults of all abilities and she has been with PSA in a variety of roles since 2021. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, travelling, and trying fun activities around the city.
Tara is the program coordinator for Medicine Hat Adaptive Sport and Recreation along with the Provincial Program Director of the Paralympic Sports Association. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Adapted Physical Activity from the University of Alberta. She also is trained as an AFLCA leader in Older Adult Fitness. Tara has worked and volunteered extensively in the world of adaptive physical activity focusing in on the sports of sledge hockey, boccia, adaptive cycling, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair curling and adaptive fitness. Her most notable roles include Head Coach of the Canadian National Women’s Para Hockey Team.
Her true passion is to help to provide choice for individuals of all ability levels to be active in their own way. When not working, Tara can be found hanging out with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoys going on walks with her fiancé, Derek, and their dog, Doug.
